Secret tricks and tips for the Samsung Wave

Tips, tricks and secrets
Whilst having a recent play about with a Samsung Wave I wanted to test out various tricks and tips, I'm a guy and we can't help but play about with things and learn the secrets. Sadly I learnt some of them after having had to use other methods for things to work though for everyone else they will certainly find some of these useful.
Screen Shot
This is one of the most useful features
for those wanting to take photographs of what's on screen. To do this
you simply need to press the centre button and the lock key on the
side of the phone. I wish I'd known these a few days ago when I was
taking photographs of the screen with a separate phone as the clarity
of these is much better than the ones I was taking. The images taken
this way can be found in a folder called “Screen capture” which
is found in the “Images” sub-folder of “Files”. This is a
great little secret which is sadly too secret! All the pictures taken
in this article were done with this secret.
The image to the right shows both the "Screen capture" folder and the brilliant quality of these images which much better than you will get of trying to take a photograph of it.
Shortcut to the task manager
Usually to find the task manager you need to go through a number of screens including a menu screen and the about screen. In fact it actually takes quite a while to get there before you even know which applications you need to close. If however you just hold the key in the middle of the phone, you zoom straight there saving you the time and effort of going through all the menu screens.
Secret codes
The phone has a number of secret codes
to test various settings and such things. Rather than going into and
explaining them all (many of which I don't actually understand) I'll
just give you codes to some of the more useful ones. To access them
click keypad and enter the code using the keypad.
Factory rest
(completely resets the phone to how it was when it left the Samsung
factory)

of things including the vibration, the touch screen and the
accelerometer

Texting methods
Most people won't be
aware that the phone actually has 4 different methods to enter texts
messages. One is the now standard on-screen QWERTY keyboard, though
you can also open up an on screen “keypad” showing the the old
style keys from buttoned phones (1-9 keys) which some people still
prefer to use. You can also try “writing” the messages with your
finger writing the letters though this seems more hassle than it's
worth. When you go to text someone you will see a key with “EN”
on it, hold it and you can select predictive text and the choice of
which writing method you want to use.
Hopefully you can make the most of these tricks and get the most from your phone. Which although not the most up to date handset is still a pretty decent phone and has plemty of depth to it.
